Jag sitter med en dator här som startar om helt plötsligt, utan förvarning.
Jag bad en god vän tolka några minidumpfiler och han hittade följande:

I stackbacktracen finns det information om USB-aktivitet när maskinen kraschade. Har du några USB-enheter kopplade till maskinen? Testa isf att koppla bort dem och kolla sen om det finns någon BIOS-uppdatering.
Det finns även referens om suscom.sys men jag vet inte riktigt vad detta är för fil. Det enda jag kan hitta är att det kan vara en drivrutin för seriella portar.
Enligt listan med minidumpfiler startade problemen strax efter jul. Jag pratade med ägaren till datorn och han sa att hans barnbarn varit där över julen och installerat en digitalkamera, vet dock ej vilken. Den installerades i alla fall genom att trycka in USB-kontakten, sen skötte det sig självt.
Var hittar jag information om vilka enheter som installerats automatiskt, men som inte används just nu?
suscom.sys ligger i \system32\drivers\ och beskrivningen lyder: USB-to-Serial Cable Driver (Copyright Susteen Inc.)
Problemet uppstod oftast när en virussökning gjordes.
De avinstallerade då antivirusprogrammet i hopp om att allt skulle bli bättre. Då datorn nu varit igång i över två timmar utan att problemet uppstått ominstallerar jag programmet och försöker tvinga fram en sådan omstart som beskrivits ovan.
Det är för övrigt Norton Antivirus 2005 som används.
