Hej!

Jag undrar ifall det är någon som känner till om det finns en modernare variant av Delphi's;

Det är så trist att ha en win 3.1 look på sina program. Finns det någon komponent man kan ladda hem gratis eller till billig penning?

Jag använder Delphi 5 och har hört rykten om att i Delphi 6 så ska det finnas en modernare look. Stämmer det?

Det ska ingå i Delphi 6 jag tror Borland kategoriserade dessa som exempel. Borland menade att det inte gick att implementera dessa på ett "professionellt" sätt pga buggar/odokumenterat api, därför kallade dom dessa komponenter exempel.

Jag förmodar att det finns en eller ett par API-funktioner man kan använda för att själv skapa detta. Hur pass "stabilt" är dessa funktioner? Och framför allt vilka är dessa funktioner i så fall?

Det finns nya varianter som också funkar fint i WinXP i Delphi 6. De ligger mycket riktigt under "samples" men jag vet inte om de gör det för att Borland tycker de är något "shaky". Jag använder dem i mina egna program och de funkar bra.

På en fråga varför komponenterna ligger under samples svarade "Borland".

"Because there are hacks in there that are required to make it function correctly. Those hacks are there because the ShellAPI is not implemented correctly in several instances. See my comments in the code. They should still be there. Mark Duncan wrote the original version of those components (and figured out all the hard stuff <g>). However, he was spending far too much time on them chasing ShellAPI inconsistencies. In lieu of dropping them, I volunteered to spend some time with them and see if we could get them to a level acceptable enough to ship as samples. You have the COMPLETE source code for them, and they come in their own packages that are independent of anything else in D6, so they can be updated independently. I don't know what else we could have done. I have not seen a single ShellAPI implementation that is not a hack, because it is absolutely required to get the detail information on some folders. Until such a time as that hack is not required, we will never make these components "officially supported" components. Sorry, but that's the way it is and should be.
