The Holy Empire of The Divine Order is a small, economically powerful nation, renowned for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-working, cynical population of 12 million are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.
The minute, corrupt, moralistic government, or what there is of one, juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing, Cheese Exports, and Furniture Restoration industries.
Military spending is on the increase, all major public areas are watched by police surveillance cameras, punitive tariffs protect local industry, and meat-eating is frowned upon. Crime is a problem. The Divine Order's national animal is the cluster lizard, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Rabbit foot.

The average income tax rate is 19%, but much higher for the wealthy. A substantial private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Automobile Manufacturing, and Information Technology industries.
Crime is moderate. Victor Malm's national animal is the frog and its currency is the tigers.
