Ändra refresh rate i RH 8.0

Jag har försökt allt som jag har hittat på internet om hur man ska ändra refresh rate men jag kan inte få något att fungera. Hoppas någon här kan ge mig just det svar som jag behöver :)
Jag har Redhat 8.0, en Compaq MV700 skärm (klarar 1024x768@85) och ett GeForce 4.

Jag har samma problem.

Jag undrar även om det finns något sätt att ändra "refresh rate" i textläge, innan man startat x.

Ni tar reda på vad er skärm klarar av så ändrar ni i dessa 2 fält::
HorizSync 30.0 - 70.0
VertRefresh 75.0 - 100.0

Det är drivrutinen som inte klarar mer än 60Hz. Man måste ladda ner den senaste från nVidia och kompilera in den i kärnan.

Fungerade perfekt för mig :) Satt och ändrade modelines osv hela dagen igår innan jag hittade denna länk.

Jag har inget nVidia-kort, men nu när jag vet var skon klämmer (i grafikkortets drivrutiner) så kan jag nog fixa till det.
Det var inte mycket mening att ändra i config filen, det spelade ju ingen roll.
