Vantage Technology Magazine

"Then have you the excellent LOW BUDGET alternative Panasonic LS2 that is an improved version of the 4 megapixels LS1 with 5 megapixels (effective) and several advantages... The new version offer very good picture quality (with 1480 fine lines sharpness, very accurate colours, very low noise up to 100 ISO and rather little purple edges) and the same features as LS1 including the valuable Optical Image Stabilizer, fine 3x zoom (as 35-105mm, F2.8-5.0) that handle many soft indoor light situations (with OIS on) and 2 inch screen (85t pixels or 210dpi or about 2.5x sharper than a notebook screen and 16x view zoom) in a lower and clearly more elegant body of only 183cm3 (110.5x53.5x31 mm) that also give you a clearly better grip than more tiny cameras, plus slightly better battery life (about 390 pix with two AA NiMH batteries) more than 50% faster auto focus (only 0.4sec, 2.5sec to first shot and 1.5sec between shots, in test) focus assist lamp, an unique "high angle" function that let you view the 2inch screen from below (86t pixels or 212dpi, which is about 2.6x sharper than a notebook) five new scene modes (of 14 totally) and slightly rounder design, with doors (no annoying rubber flaps) and 14MB built in memory (nice for an album with your favourite pictures) but it take also SD/MMC cards... At incredible 1495sek or max 200usd... Then give it also excellent sharp (minimum 50mm wide) macros... You can click here to read more about this budget masterpiece and see how fine it looks... But it has still "only" a rather fine 3x zoom (that need little more light and give little more purple edges plus slightly softer corners, than the more expensive Panasonic's) it has a rather big screen instead of a tiny optical viewfinder and the superior 6x zoom of LZ5 or LZ3 below is really worth a lot more, than the slightly higher price..."
