Jag frågade inte vilka som inte visste när dom skulle komma.

Hmm, aningen offtopic men:

Vilka nya domäner är det som kommer?

Enligt nyhetsbrevet Uppsnappat (nr 358 18 juli, http://www.uppsnappat.com/) så kommer de nya toppdomänerna lanseras vid årsskiftet. Det mesta är tydligen inte bestämmt men det kommer inte komma mer än sex sycken.

Olika förslag jag har hört är .arts, .shop, .store, .news, .sex, .web, .tel

Enligt http://www.icann.org/general/faq1.htm#gtlds :

Q: When will ICANN create new generic top level domains, such as .arts, .shop, .store, .news, .sex, etc.?

A: ICANN and its constituent organizations have recently begun the process of considering whether, how, and when to add new generic top-level domains (gTLDs) to the domain name system. In recent years, a number of plans have been proposed to create new gTLDs, such as .firm, .store, .law, and .arts., and some companies have even taken orders for them. ICANN, which administers the domain name system, has not yet made a decision for or against the addition of new generic top-level domains. The ICANN process provides for the development of consensus-based policies (such as policies concerning new names) in an open, transparent and bottom-up manner in which interested individuals have an opportunity to participate and comment.

There are many arguments both for and against new gTLDs: for example, those in favor argue that new gTLDs are technically easy to create, will help relieve perceived scarcities in existing name spaces, and are consistent with a general push towards consumer choice and diversity of options; those opposed point to greater possibilities for consumer confusion, the risk of increased trademark infringement, cybersquatting and cyberpiracy.

ICANN's Domain Name Supporting Organization (DNSO) has primary responsibility for making a recommendation on new gTLDs to the ICANN Board. On May 27, 1999, the ICANN Board of Directors referred to the DNSO a set of recommendations on new gTLDs submitted by the World Intellectual Property Organization; the DNSO's provisional Names Council responded by creating a Working Group to review the issue. Att det här med nya toppdomäner är på förslag, men inget är bestämt...

i.love.sex...undrar om man skulle ta och reservera några namn i förväg..

ska vi gissa att .sex kommer att bli populär?!

Om alla sexsidor läggs under .sex, så kommer nog internet rensas upp från sin sexstämpel.

Hmm, det kommer ju troligtvis bli namnrush när dessa släpps... vilken kalabalik... alla företag vill väl regga sitt namn med de nya topdomännamnen... och nog kommer det att komma springandes en massa namnupköpare, som bara vill ha namnet och sälja det vidare för dyra pengar.... usch inge bra...

Dom snackade faktiskt om att nuvarande ägare skulle få chansen att köpa först. T.ex. ska Microsoft få förtur på t.ex. www.microsoft.web

.web kategorin ser jag mest som ett diversedomän som typ alt i usenet, perfekt för sådana med personliga hemsidor. Företag ska hålla sig till sina .com, .store och sånt.

Istället för att läsa Rikards lilla citat kan du alltså läsa mitt inlägg istället
