# Starta ej xwindows i debian

## #1 — hadoque, 2004-06-21T20:00Z

Jag är rätt färsk på det här med linux. Har just installerat dabian på en gammal skorv därhemma. När jag startar upp systemet så börjar den starta x-windows och vill att jag ska logga in där. Jag skulle hellre vilja logga in utan att xwindows startar, och så kan jag starta det när jag själv vill . Hur gör jag?

Öppna din /etc/init.d i din favorit editor. Leta rätt på raden med default runlevel ändra till...

```
id:2:initdefault:
```

Spara och stäng. Ge sedan kommandot...

```
kill -SIGHUP 1
```

Klart!

det finns ingen fil med det namnet, däremot finns en som heter inittab, men den innehåller redan raden som du säger att jag ska ändra till. Mysko. Här är innehållet i den filen:

```
# /etc/inittab: init(8) configuration.
# $Id: inittab,v 1.91 2002/01/25 13:35:21 miquels Exp $
# The default runlevel.
# This is run first except when booting in emergency (-b) mode.
si::sysinit:/etc/init.d/rcS
# What to do in single-user mode.
~~:S:wait:/sbin/sulogin
# /etc/init.d executes the S and K scripts upon change
# of runlevel.
#
# Runlevel 0 is halt.
# Runlevel 1 is single-user.
# Runlevels 2-5 are multi-user.
# Runlevel 6 is reboot.
Helt rätt! "/etc/inittab" ska det ju vara.  :r När jag tänker efter riktigt hårt så har jag nog aldrig kört X på debian. Vad händer om du provar att växla till någon annan runlevel, ge kommandot "init 3", "init 4" eller "init 5"? Någonstans borde du få en konsollinloggning. :q rcS bör inte ha något med detta att göra.
Jag hittade svaret i ett annat forum. Det är tydligen lite mer komplicerat i Debian, kanske bättre, kanske sämre, vad vet jag...
