# web crawler, FTP?

Hi!
Can anyone tell me if there is a softwae(cheap) that allows me to check through the amount of words on a web site?
Another little question, what is an FTP. The context used is in the following text: ''prospective clients compress and send their sites to us by FTP. Otherwise you can send the site to us in a compressed format via e-mail.''

FTP = File Transfer Protocol.

I use FTP to transfer my htmlpages to my server...
