# Något är fel

Jag har precis installerat SQl Server 2000 på min server men jag får upp detta fel meddelandet

Parser Error Message: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.

¨På min dator hemma fungerar allt klockrent med winxp

men efter installationen på win2k proffesional server så får jag detta fel är det någon inställning som jag gjorde eller inte gjorde när jag installerade det på denna ?

Gör precis som det står: Skapa ett Virtual Directory för din applikation så ska det fungera. Det hjälpte när jag fick detta felmeddelande.

Men jag kan väl inte dela ut min databas mapp ? eller då kan ju väl som helst ladda ner den ?

Nej, du skall inte dela ut din databas-mapp. Skapa bara en Virtual Directory som juventus1 skrev.

Du har nog missförstått application lite nickemannen

ASP.NET defines an application as the sum of all files, pages, handlers, modules, and executable code that can be invoked or run in the scope of a given virtual directory (and its subdirectories) on a Web application server. For example, an "order" application might be published in the "/order" virtual directory on a Web server computer. For IIS the virtual directory can be set up in the Internet Services Manager; it contains all subdirectories, unless the subdirectories are virtual directories themselves.

Vilken mapp skall jag tillsätta det då ?

SqlServer mappen eller den mappen där jag har mina sql server databas filer ?

Ingen du ska sätta det på den mapp som din asp.net applikation ligger på, där dina aspx filer som kör mot sqlserver ligger
